Giclee print, liquid emulsion on styrofoam box, other materials.
Ciel packages images of fish products inside styrofoam boxes (acquired from the fish market itself) and cling film to comment on our packaged realities of contemporary society and how we have altered the meaning of things.
Styrofoam boxes were coated in liquid emulsion to create photo-sculptures. This reflects the history of Billingsgate market, and the ‘memory’ of the material.
This artwork encourages us to consider the embodiment of images through the containment of time, space and memory.
